What is a Trademark?

A Trademark is a distinctive sign used by an individual or company to identify its products or services and to distinguish these products or services from those of other companies.

A Trademark can be a name, word, logo, design or a combination of these elements.

How to obtain protection?

Trademark rights are established through the registration of the Trademark. Without registration a company can not protect its distinctive sign.

Scope of protection?

The owner of a registered Trademark is entitled to prevent unauthorized use of the Trademark or a similar sign in relation to products or services which are identical or similar to the registered products or services. In certain cases the owner is even entitled to prevent use in relation to entirely dissimilar products or services. If there exists a likelihood of confusion between the Trademark and the unauthorized sign, the Trademark owner can act against such use.

If we file your trademark for the European Union you will obtain protection in all the countries of the European Union.
